EndNote 20/21 Guide / APA Referencing Guide

This guide provides comprehensive instructions on the installation and use of the reference management software EndNote 20.

Deleting an in-text citation

Once you have inserted a citation, you should not edit it manually.  Instead, you must use Edit & Manage Citation(s).  This includes deleteing an in-text citation.

To delete an in-text citation:

Position the cursor in the relevant in-text citation and click Edit & Manage Citation(s).

A pop-up window will open with the citation highlighted → Click the arrow beside Edit Reference → From the drop-down list select Remove Citation → Click OK.

Please Note: If this is the only time the citation occurs, deleting this citation will also remove the reference from the reference list.
