EndNote 20/21 Guide / APA Referencing Guide

This guide provides comprehensive instructions on the installation and use of the reference management software EndNote 20.

Organising your EndNote library

EndNote not only stores references but provides the tools to organise the references to your personal preferences.

EndNote provides the tools to:

  • Create groups: Groups and group sets help organise references by paper, topic, assignment etc.
  • Searching and sorting references: As your library grows in size, the search and sort tools will make it easier to locate specific references.
  • Dealing with duplicates: When new references are added to your library, EndNote does not automatically check for duplication. However, the Find Duplicates function identifies a duplicated reference and enables the deletion of the extra reference.
  • Backing up your EndNote Library: It is highly recommended to make a backup copy of your EndNote library, if something goes wrong there is a working copy of your library.
