EndNote Guide / APA Referencing Guide

This guide provides comprehensive instructions on the installation and use of the reference management software EndNote.

Which fields are required to create webpage references in EndNote?

Important instructions:

  • If there is no individual author listed use the organisation's name in the author field.  The corporate author’s name must be followed by a comma (e.g. Ministry for the Environment,).  Failure to add a comma will result in the entry being abbreviated (e.g. Ministry, F. T. E.).
  • Capitalise the first word in the title and for a two-part title also capitalise the first word of the second part.  Proper nouns in the title require the first letter to be capitalised e.g. Culture: Why it's the hottest topic in business today.
  • Omit the publisher name when the author and the publisher are the same e.g. Ministry for the Environment.
  • Provide as specific a date as possible, enter the month or month and date if provided along with the year.
