Library Welcome Guide: Regulations

This is your portal to information, resources and services to assist your studies.

Conduct in the SIT Library

 

Food may not be consumed in the library.

Drinks are allowed in water bottles or lidded (travel) cups.

Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be on silent and not impact other library users.
Your student ID card is your library card.
Photocopying and computer facilities are only available to SIT students and staff.  Your ID card is required for accessing the photocopiers.
Consideration must be shown to other library users.
SIT Library will not assume responsibility for any personal items left unattended in the library.

Borrowing regulations

  • Your student ID card is your library card.
  • You may borrow up to 20 items at any one time.
  • Two week loans may be renewed twice unless requested by another student.
  • Items issued short term (overnight or one week) are not eligible for renewal.
  • Items returned through the after-hours slot will not be regarded as returned until they are cleared the next working day.
  • We reserve the right to recall any library items on loan.
  • SIT Library offers an interloan service (borrowing books or journal articles from another library on your behalf).  If requesting more than four interloan items at once, please prioritise the requests.

Overdue items regulations

  • Items not returned to the Library Desk or by return mail service by the due date may be invoiced to the borrower at the full replacement cost.
  • If items are lost or damaged, you will be charged for the full replacement cost.
  • We reserve the right not to issue any further items to you until overdue books are returned and/or replacement cost is paid.
