This is your portal to information, resources and services to assist your studies.

Services available to SIT2LRN/Distance students

Request and reserve library items via the libary catalogue.  For step by step instructions go to the Borrowing tab and select Reserve or Request?

Books are issued to you for a period of three weeks.  You can request two renewals if the book has not been requested by another student.  Due to demand, you may be supplied an earlier edition of your requested book.

Books are not issued for the duration of the course, if it is a required textbook you must purchase your own copy either from the SIT Bookshop or from any other bookseller/provider.

A pre-paid return bag is included so you can return your items on time and free of charge, drop off the parcel at your local New Zealand post shop.

If you require any assistance please email library@sit.ac.nz or ring either phone number 0800 403 337 or 03 211 2674 (calling charges may apply).

If you need extra support with searching the library catalogue, online databases, ebooks or referencing the SIT Library can set up a video conference.

Library staff can provide one-on-one support using screen sharing and walk you through how to access, search and use the different information sources available to SIT students.

Distance students may request journal articles that are not available at the SIT Library or through our online databases.

For detailed information on the interloans process, select the Interloans tab.

Students can call the SIT Library for one-on-one assistance, to renew books or request books be posted to them.

The contact details for the Distance Librarian, Reference Librarian, Interloans Librarian and the Library Manager are located on the Welcome tab.

SIT offers loan laptops for students who do not have access to a device capable of connecting to online classes and/or using Office 365.

Students are eligible for a laptop loan device while they are currently enrolled and attending SIT classes, whether on campus or by distance.

To apply for a loan laptop academic or library staff can apply on a student's behalf.

Loan laptops are posted to distance students.  It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you keep the box for ease of returning the loan laptop at the end of your course.
